    Dec 15, 2010 hello hope everyone is well just a quick question, i have been on methotrexate for 2 months increasing from 7.5 to 15 and now to 25mg.weekly now been given plaquenil 400mg daily, has anyone else been on this mixture and has it worked or how long should i wait to see if it works. Hi Guys, I haven't been here for a while - just checked in and found this question on Plaquenil - for me it took approx nine weeks to begin to work - I'm only taking 200mg per day so far - it seemed to stop working a few weeks later - most days are pretty good I s'pose but I drop nearly every afternoon. High-risk patients would include those who have taken high doses of Plaquenil for years i.e. 1000 g. for over 7 years. are 60 years or older. are obese. have significant liver or kidney disease. have pre-existing retinal, macular disease, or cataracts.
